Introducing 'The Lute Player.'
Originating in Egypt, the lute has long been the perfect accompaniment to the human voice. Initially strummed with a plectrum, it later transitioned to finger-playing, thus gaining a wealth of nuance and expressiveness.
'The Lute Player' is a theme not uncommon in the history of art, immortalized by master artists such as Vermeer and Caravaggio. Its evocative power and timeless appeal continue to captivate audiences and inspire contemporary artists.
Contrary to what some might believe, the lute was far from absent in the French court. In fact, it was deemed an aristocratic instrument, lauded for its delicate sound and the intricate skill required to play it. This painting reimagines its presence amidst the grandeur of French court life, offering an exquisite blend of history, culture, and artistic imagination.

A single name that conjures an entire universe infused with power, intrigue, opulence, romance, and beauty. For many centuries, Versailles stood as a beacon, the center of the world, a hub of philosophical and artistic fervor.
The perfect canvas for an artist, I chose to explore this project with a different approach. Beyond the imposing figures like the king, the queen, and their court, I have also given significance to the "invisible" people of Versailles — the coachmen, painters, valets, writers, and maidservants. Without them, this grandeur would lose its luster.
I loved delving into this universe with its wealth of decor, tapestries, goldsmith's work, and period clothing. A royal delight indeed! 😃👑

About AKET
Aket (also known as Aket Kubic) is a French painter who has been a self-taught artist since his early childhood. He was initially influenced by comic books and graffiti, but today his primary inspiration comes from cubism, although he also appreciates the works of artists such as Combas and Basquiat.
From the time he first started creating graffiti, Aket has always signed his art pieces with the name "AKET." It was only ten years later that he began to sign his artwork with this name, which has now become his signature.
Over time, Aket's style has evolved to include deconstructed portraits in which he multiplies elements and shapes of the faces, accentuating the features and lines. His artwork is heavily influenced by cubist painters such as Picasso and Condo, and he shapes faces in a playful, ludic way that can be both abstract and figurative, but always cubic.
In his artwork, Aket likes to draw from everyday life and music, using French jokes and battles of wit to recreate a frozen world from the old days. He enjoys representing life and the many facets of a person, from bistro scenes to musicians. The black lines in his paintings highlight the different and complex shapes of a face.
Today, Aket devotes himself to creating lifestyle scenes both indoors and outdoors. His final step is to give life to the representation of daily scenes and actions, bringing a sense of movement and energy to his artwork.
